44 miles straight-line distance70 kilometers straight-line distanceThis cabin is located in Frisco, Colorado, where it is situated within walking distance of the town's many shops, restaurants, and transportation options. The town is set on the shore of Frisco Bay, which forms the southwestern corner of Dillon Reservoir (also known as Lake Dillon). Encompassing 3,233 acres of pristine water full of rainbow trout, providing visitors with two full-service marinas from which they can rent watercraft, and featuring 26.8 miles of shoreline surrounded by hiking, biking, and snowmobiling trails, the reservoir is a popular, year-round destination for outdoor recreation. At its southern end, the reservoir flows out into the Blue River, which provides prime spots for fly fishing and whitewater rafting.
In addition to its venues for water-based recreation, the area is also renowned for its ski resorts, to which the cabin provides convenient access. It is about six miles from Copper Mountain, nine miles from Breckenridge Ski Resort, 14 miles from Keystone Resort, and 18 miles from Arapahoe Basin. There are also plenty of opportunities to reconnect with nature around the cabin, as it is surrounded by White River National Forest, the most visited national forest in the entire United States. Here, guests will find a vast, 2.3-million-acre expanse of forested foothills, mountains, and valleys interspersed with alpine lakes, streams, and rivers. Exploring its extensive, 2,500-mile network of trails, guests will pass many scenic vistas and will encounter some of the abundant wildlife that calls the forest home, such as deer, elk, moose, mountain goats, and mountain sheep.
The cabin is about an hour and 15 minutes from Denver, where guests will find the nearest international airport.Activities near Frisco

For skiing and snowboarding, guests can hit the slopes of Copper Mountain, Breckenridge Ski Resort, Keystone Resort, and Arapahoe Basin. At the nearby Dillon Reservoir (also known as Lake Dillon), guests can go boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and fishing, with rentals, tours, and lessons available through the Frisco Bay Marina and the Dillon Marina. For whitewater rafting, guests can head down the Blue River with local outfitters such as Breckenridge Whitewater Rafting, which also offers zip lining, rock climbing, horseback riding, and fly fishing expeditions.
Circling around the Dillon Reservoir, guests will find an 18-mile paved biking path. A number of trails for biking and hiking can also be found extending out into the forest right from the town of Breckenridge, where guests will find the Riverwalk, Snowflake, Illinois Creek, Carter Park, and Iowa Hill trailheads. Trails for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing can also be found winding through the 77-acre wetlands of the Cucumber Gulch Wildlife Preserve, the entrance to which is less than a mile from the cottage. For more hiking, White River National Forest offers a virtually inexhaustible array of options, with 2,500 miles of trails in total. -
