During winter months, guests can head to Monarch Mountain for skiing and snowboarding. Scenic trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing can be found at Old Monarch Pass Road, and guests can go snowmobiling in the San Isabel Forest all the way to the Continental Divide. Once the snow melts, guests can explore these same paths with 4WD and ATVs. Waterdog Lake Trail is great for hiking and the Arkansas Hills Trail System offers plenty of biking trails that begin in Salida. Guests can also go ziplining, whitewater rafting, fishing, golfing, and horseback riding nearby. Tours for dog sledding, sightseeing, and wildlife viewing are all available within a short drive. While in town, guests can visit the Hot Springs, the museum, art galleries, the Riverside Park, shops, restaurants, and local wineries.
