This secluded lakeside cottage can be found nestled in the woods and is the perfect place for a romantic getaway near the Mohawk State Forest, Connecticut. It accommodates two guests with a plush king-size bed draped in deluxe linens and bedding. The bathroom features a shower, a bathtub, a sink, and a toilet. Towels are kindly provided.
In the living area, guests can curl up on the sofa and enjoy a good book or switch on the flat-screen cable TV. There is a kitchenette with a microwave and a fridge, for preparing hot or cold drinks and snacks. Perhaps the best part of the cottage is the covered porch, which features a sofa and a swinging chair, and overlooks the lake. Offering sumptuous views of the surrounding area, it is a great place to kick back and relax. Other amenities include Wi-Fi and parking on site.
Outside, as well as immediate access to the lake, guests will find a fire pit surrounded by a couple of deck chairs. Here, guests can start a bonfire in the evening, and enjoy a bottle of wine, and perhaps some s'mores, in a most intimate setting. Although the cottage is secluded, guests will still have access to all the resort's amenities, including basketball and tennis courts, and a heated outdoor swimming pool. Should guests want to explore the area a bit, there is the Mohawk State Forest in less than an hour's drive away, or guest can cross the border into Massachusetts and visit the Mount Everett State Reservation.
The site features everything guests will need and more. Shared facilities include an outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, a basketball court, a fitness room, a game room, and a lounge. Guests will also be provided with complimentary kayaks and right next door is a golf course. The resort features a spa, which offers fantastic packages and additionally, there is a superb dining area. The site also has plenty of parking.

The Twin Lakes lie further north where O'Hara's Landing Marina provides boat rentals including kayaks, fishing boats, rowboats, and pontoon boats. The numerous state parks and forests offer great hiking and exciting biking. Bash Bish Falls State Park features an incredible waterfall which cascades its way through a series of gorges before dropping 60 feet into a sparkling pool below, which is well worth a visit. For those looking to take it easy, there are numerous wineries and breweries in the area to explore and guests can grab a bottle of their favorite to enjoy back at the glamping site.
