Vermont has something to offer all year round and with thousand of acres of mountain terrain, forested areas, and lakes, it is a nature lover's paradise. Home to the oldest long-distance hiking trail in the nation, the vast Green Mountain National Park is great for hiking with trails such as the Appalachian Trail and the famous Long trail. Follow the roads and glampers will stumble across waterfalls and stunning picnic areas. The Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park is also a great National Park to visit as it has a working farm and Victorian mansion. Learn about farm life and land conservation on the tours of the farm and the Rockefeller house. Lake Champlain is also a must visit and great for canoeing and kayaking. With 318 different species of birds and 81 species of fish, it is a wildlife haven and glampers can visit the several wildlife reserves. During the winter months, the mountains turn into a skiers playground with 20 alpine ski resorts, 7,300 acres of alpine terrain, and 30 cross-country touring centers.
Vermont also has a rich history and culture with many museums and galleries. The Shelburne Museum reflects America's folk and fine art traditions with restored historic buildings and collections. Glampers with children will also love the Ben and Jerry's factory tour where you can sample the day's flavour and buy lots of ice cream goodies in the gift shop.
