This romantic and tropical cottage getaway is located 45 minutes from HIlo Hawaii and can accommodate two guests comfortably. Upon entering the cottage, guests will find one bedroom, which boasts a spacious, queen-size bed with a canopy and sunken living room. The exposed wooden beams throughout, along with splashes of aqua and tangerine hues, give the space an inviting tropical, yet rustic, vibe. Linens, towels and beach towels are kindly provided by the host.

The living room features enormous, floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto a magical grotto with a 30 feet canopy from giant trees providing guests with stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty. Glampers will love curling up on the sofa with a good book while marvelling at the lush greenery just outside. Additionally, guests can enjoy a delicious meal at the dining table, which sits just beneath a window with striking views. There is a large deck up in the branches of the tree above the house. Total Swiss Family Robison as there is a table and chairs to hang out or dine.

The fully-equipped kitchen comes with all the amenities guests need to whip up a delectable meal with easily source produce and protein and the local farmer's market. There is an oven, stove, refrigerator and two basin sink. Other amenities include DSL Wi-Fi for your video conferencing and remote work. There is an outdoor shower at the base of the biggest mother of a mango tree right outside the door. A large variety of plants collected by the owner creates a lush undergrowth that surrounds you.

Guests will 'drop in' feeling so close to nature by using the site’s eco-friendly facilities, such as a composting toilet. There is a DSL High-Speed Wi-Fi connection for remote work.

All this and only a walk to a clothing-optional black sand beach. Whales are often seen off-shore in the winter months

A visit to the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, located an hour away, creates an unforgettable experience, where guests will be able to see lava, at the same time as magnificent, vivid colors of the setting sun. The toasty black sand of Kehena Beach warms guests’ feet as they take a relaxing stroll along the coast. Glampers also have the option of participating in various water sports, such as swimming in the serene water, scuba diving, surfing, and snorkeling.

Less than an hour away lies the town of Hilo, where guests can dine in quality restaurants, and browse the local shops. Furthermore, the town is home to many interesting museums and outdoor possibilities, such as a visit to the Wailuku River State Park, or marveling at the exquisite, picturesque Rainbow Falls. Visitors cannot come to the area without taking a scenic drive along the coastal Red Road. There are farmer's markets on Sunday at Maku'u and Wednesday night market at Uncle Robert's with free live music, dancing in an open air venue, and dozens of food vendors serving all nationalities of food. Guests may even see some drop in hula artists take to the dance floor and share part of the Hawaiian cultural heritage. The hosts have two locals who act as guest concierge while on site and can direct to all manner of fun things to do and places to see.
