The main activity offered at this glamping site is whitewater rafting, and it’s available for every level of experience. Below are the different trips guests can choose to embark on:
The South Fork American River is located on the western slopes of the Sierra between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. This scenic river goes past the historical Sutter's Mill where James Marshall sparked the Great California Gold Rush after his discovery of gold there in 1848. The South Fork offers an exciting 21-mile journey and boasts more than 30 rapids ranging from Class 1 to Class 3. Because of the diversity of rapids on this part of the river, this trip is suitable for both beginners and more experienced paddlers. Children eight and older are allowed on this trip. Prices range from $104 to $309, depending on which day and which trip guests choose.
The Middle Fork American River runs along a forested canyon and is famous for its crystal clear water and some of the wildest runnable rapids in all of California. While some parts of the river are serene and mellow for peaceful paddling, there are also rapids for high adrenaline whitewater excitement and thrills. The highlight of this part of the river is the famous Tunnel Chute, a stunning narrow cataract created by 19th Century gold miners to divert the river and dry up the ancient bed to make finding gold easier. Children 14 and older are allowed on this rafting trip. Prices range from $145 to $206 for this rafting trip, depending on which days guests choose to go.
Remember, if guests would like to go on a rafting trip, mention it in a message in the booking request so that the appropriate fees can be added.
Other activities available to enjoy are listed below.
The amphitheater is a comfortable and scenic spot perfect for evening entertainment and nighttime slide shows where guests can view their day of rafting.
Enjoy a volleyball game on the sand court or participate in a game of horseshoes in the horseshoe pits. In the new game deck guests can also play ping-pong, foosball, and air hockey.
Fishing is available from the banks of the American River (with a valid, current, CA Fishing License).
