Nearby Yuba River offers fantastic hiking trails, as does the Tahoe National Forest and Grouse Ridge Lakes Basin, where glampers can go hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, climbing, bird watching, and so much more. There is also no place more peaceful than Animal Place, a sanctuary that takes in needy farmed animals and keeps them safe and protected on around 600 beautiful acres.
For those interested in the area's history of gold mining, Grass Valley is home to the North Star Powerhouse Mining Museum and the Empire Mine State Historic Park. Guests can also find restaurants, cafes, and shops in lovely Nevada City.
