Description of Glamping Units

These fiberglass, eco-friendly, ultra-light accommodations in Southern California are boldly designed and known for their classic, vintage style and timeless, comfortable interiors. Each camper can accommodate up to four guests. All campers have been updated and restored to their original beauty with modern additions, such as sound systems, iPod docs, heaters, ventilation fans, and contemporary upholstery. The durable fiberglass construction lasts forever, and all trailers are under 1,200 lbs.

The benefits of a super lightweight travel camper include that they're easy to maneuver, small, and easy to tow; require very little gas; don't require extra insurance or brake lines; can be towed with any vehicle; 100% solar powered and climate controlled; and they're easy to store and can fit into any parking space.

The two options in trailers that glampers have are as follows:

1984 Uhaul CT: An original 1980's U-Haul trailer based off the popular Burro brand, it has robust features, including a big bumper and numerous safety features. It also has dimmable rope lighting, retro curtains, a table base for outside, a stereo with an iPod jack, mirrors, storage space, a fridge, a stove, and a sink.

The 1981 Trillium: The Cadillac of fiberglass trailers, it is wider and taller than other trailers and has an extra shelf and a large closet. Everything fits nicely, and there is a lot of space. It is solid and smooth for pulling, features a stereo with an iPod dock, a removable DC, high-powered window fan, and sleeps four with ease. This camper is uniquely decorated with a vintage beige and brown exterior and a bright yellow and blue with palm trees interior. It's perfect for the beach with friends!

What a great way to spend time together. We were very nervous about driving with a camper attached but Derek gave simple and assuring instruction. Our camper was perfect! Had just enough room and function and comfortable & cozy. Meals inside were perfect. Make sure and take bedding, matches and cookware. Our only complaint is that we didn't use it longer. Derek had great ideas about scenic routes and campsites along the way. The whole team at HC are professional, easy and nice especially their very active and sweet dog. Communication with Derek was easy and he was available if we had questions during our trip. What could have been a stressful time ended up joyous. I can't rave enough that you have to try this vacation thru HC. Thank you!

We rented a camper last weekend from Derek and I was so excited when I found them and found out they were nearby in Silverlake. After doing lots of research on camper rentals I found their policies and guidelines to be very reasonable compared to others and they had great prices. There is no cleaning fee, pet fee, insurance fee, etc., etc. that you get with all the other rental companies. You simply tell your own insurance you are renting the trailer so you don't pay additional insurance fees. Derek the owner is very easy going and a pleasure to deal with. He definitely goes the extra mile to make you a happy camper! While the campers are uber cute they are also cozy and vintage, in other words small and minimalist. If you are into high-tech gadgets and new car smell these aren't the campers for you. Although, Derek has upgraded some of the trailers with cool features. Ours was pretty basic but it did come with the solar panel to recharge the battery...pretty cool! They are lightweight and easy to pull with your car. They do have stoves and the table area converts to about a double sized bed. If you are really tall, the bed might be too short for you. My husband and I are both under 6' and if we were much taller the bed would be too short. There are no bathrooms in the trailers but Derek will give you a portable toilet if you want one. If you want to make all your friends jealous, rent one of these cuties! You will be the envy of the everyone! Overall our experience was excellent. We would definitely rent here again!

We are normally tent campers, but this time, we rented a camper for a trip in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. The trailer was perfect for my family of four. My husband and I slept on the banquette dining area that converted easily into a bed for two, and my kids slept on a folding couch that magically turned into a bunk bed. I don't know if I can go back to camping in a tent- the vintage trailer made it so much more fun and convenient! The host, Derek is awesome. He should be cloned! I hope to try out all his other trailers!

Derek and his staff are terrific, and the campers/trailers that he provides are certainly eye-catching and fun! If you rent one of these vintage and beautifully-restored mini-trailers, be prepared to meet people and make new friends -- because people WILL point, oogle, and chat...not always in that order. On our recent outing to Anza Borego we rented two trailers which both conveniently and easily fit into one camping site. During our stay we met and made friends with campground hosts, rangers, and numerous camping neighbors, largely owing to these dazzling trailers. Lots of fun. Reasonable prices. Outstanding friendly service. Thank you Derek!

This summer, my wife and I wanted to take our two girls, ages 3 and 1, on what would hopefully be our first of many summer road trips. When I was a kid, exploring California on the road was a summer tradition in my family and we wanted to start doing the same with our kids. Our first destination would be Yosemite. My wife and I looked at RV rentals, but we wanted something smaller, affordable and with some style and class. We were so lucky to find these travel campers! Pulling the camper behind our SUV was a breeze, and it served us perfectly once in Yosemite. It's definitely a conversation starter as we got a lot of compliments and questions about our awesome little trailer. Thank you Derek for making our first summer family roadtrip so memorable.
