Location + Surroundings
Just a couple of miles to the south, guests will find the northern end of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, which stretches for 40 miles along the coast and is a popular area for off-road vehicle riding. The recreation area also contains hiking trails and an array of streams and more than 30 lakes and ponds that attract water sport enthusiasts, fishers, and divers.
The cabin is about 15 minutes from Sea Lion Caves, part of which is exactly what it sounds like—a sea cave full of hundreds of sea lions—but is also a wildlife preserve and bird sanctuary, where guests can see whales and an array of shorebirds, waterfowl, birds of prey, ground-dwelling birds, and sea birds, such as cormorants, pigeon guillemots, herons, and sandpipers. Other nearby natural attractions include Jessie H, Honeyman Memorial State Park, Cleawox Lake, Woahink Lake, the Darlingtonia State Natural Site, and Joaquin Miller State Park.
The cabin is within walking distance of Jerry's Place Bar and Grill and the Haceta Mini Mart. For more shopping and dining options, guests can visit downtown Florence, which is just 10 minutes to the south. The cabin is about three hours from Portland, where the nearest international airport is located.

At Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, guests can go off-road vehicle riding on 40 miles of dunes along the Oregon coast, as well as hiking on an array of trails winding through the dunes and the recreation area's forest of Douglas firs and sitka spruces. In the the recreation area's many streams, ponds, lakes, and coastal waters, guests can also go sailing, canoeing, waterskiing, swimming, scuba diving, and fishing.
For a chance to see sea lions, whales, and an array of shorebirds, waterfowl, birds of prey, ground-dwelling birds, and sea birds, guests can head to the wildlife preserve and bird sanctuary of Sea Lion Caves.
