Location + Surroundings
Along the coast, guests may see marine life such as sea lions and whales. At Siuslaw National Forest, they will find more than 630,000 acres of coastline, rivers, streams, lakes, and forests, which are composed primarily of spruce and hemlock. The forest is also home to Mary's Peak, which the tallest mountain in the Oregon Coast Range. The Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, the Devil's Churn rock formation, and Thor's Well are also nearby, all three attractions being located within a 25-minute drive from the vacation rental. Downtown Waldport lies only four miles to the west, where guests will find a variety of shops and restaurants.

With direct access to the Alsea River and with a number of natural areas and beaches nearby, guests will be well-positioned to enjoy a variety of water-based activities. Guests can go fishing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding in the river. For swimming, beachcombing, surfing, whale watching, and marine wildlife viewing, they can head to the Smelt Sands State Recreation Site and the Governor Patterson Memorial State Recreation Site.
For enjoyment of the great outdoors on land, guests can visit Siuslaw National Forest, where they can go hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. At Yachats State Park, guests can witness the grey whale migration and enjoy a scenic picnic.
For shopping and dining, guests will find a variety of options in downtown Waldport. Additionally, a wide variety of family-friendly attractions, such as the Oregon Coast Aquarium, can be found in the city of Newport which is a 35-minute drive away.
