The city of Vancouver, Washington, is located on the north bank of the Columbia River and is the largest suburb of Portland, Oregon. Just a quick drive over the bridge and you’ll be in North Portland in no time! Vancouver is rich in city parks, which are popular with locals and visitors alike and offer some really great spaces to spend time outdoors without having to go far. For those with a keen interest in leisurely walks, the Waterfront Renaissance Trail is highly regarded and provides some lovely views. More ambitious hikers might want to venture further afield to one of the many national green spaces in the area. Mt Hood National Forest, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and Mt St. Helens National Volcanic Monument are easily reached by car.
