Live Oak

Live Oak is a Florida town with real Southern charm, from the ancient oaks draped in Spanish moss, to the tranquil atmosphere in town. Bounded on both sides by the Suwannee and Santa Fe rivers, this town has a relaxed waterside vibe that is unbeatable for relaxation. Head to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park for canoeing and hiking in the wilderness, or head to the John M. Bethea State Forest and the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. The town is also within reach of the Apalachicola National Forest, the Aucilla Wildlife Management Area, and Tate's Hell State Forest - all ideal for hiking. Head to the Suwannee Springs Park to see a sulfur spring inside a 125-year-old limestone wall, long a gathering place for Native Americans, due to the pure water which can be consumed unfiltered and runs a striking pale blue.
