Suwanee has an incredible position at the intersection of the river and gulf, salt and freshwater creeks and man-made canals. One of the largest delta-estuarine systems in the country, this unique area is protected by the nearly 60,000 acre Lower Suwannee Wildlife Refuge - which is a dream for any adventurous glamper, as it is designed to both protect the area and provide as much public access as possible. It's well worth exploring on one of the many hiking trails that wind through the refuge and keep an eye out for the local wildlife. The town itself is small and charming, with an excellent range of restaurants, cafes, marinas, and fishing guide companies. And in typical Florida fashion, the town is laidback, and ideal for relaxing!
