About this place

There are two luxury tents at this nature reserve within the Sky Islands of Arizona—the Jaguar Camp and Ocelot Camp. The tents are located within a Mesquite Bosque (woodland) with sites so secluded that glampers won’t see other tourists in the area. This glamping site allows guests to disconnect, enjoy the wildlife, and relish in the peace and quiet of nature. These luxury tents are made of beautiful mustard-yellow canvas, and they sit atop a large Fir-wood platform. The tents measure 20 feet long, 14 feet wide, and 10 feet high. Both come with an incredibly comfortable and adjustable sleep number queen-size bed, cotton linens, and adjustable cooling fans. The private outdoor bathroom includes a hot and cold shower, a rustic copper sink, large/soft towels, and an indoor, state-of-the-art Incinerator toilet. Additionally, these luxury tents are equipped with rustic wooden furniture, energy-saving lights, a mesquite-fired wood stove, nature-based art, and a nature library. Both ends of the luxury tent have stylish mesh screen doors, allowing fresh air circulation to help regulate the temperature as desired, and ensuring that the local wild creatures stay outside.. In addition, glampers can access both ends of their luxury tent via retractable stairways that lead to the outdoor decks on each side of the platform—the perfect spot for a glass of wine or a good book! It is possible to also choose to relax in a spacious cotton hammock located in a private sitting area just outside the tent.

During guests glamping stay, they will have access to all 42 wild acres of the nature preserve, various nature trails spread throughout the reserve, the 2,000-square-foot Sky Islands Discovery Center, organic gardens, an organic orchard, wildlife ponds, and much more.

Located near the luxury tents, glampers will easily access both dining and lounging areas, where they can enjoy beautiful views and delicious organic home-cooked meals. Also on site is a lovely café where there are opportunities to savor organic smoothies, teas, and other delicious beverages, as well as appetizing organic snacks throughout the day.

Breakfast is included in the booking rate.

One of the underlying philosophies of this property is to promote environmental practices that will help lower the use of power, water, fuel, and produce minimum waste. This reduces the property's ecological footprint, which is the total of all actions of the site on the environment. One of the hosts' key goals is zero waste, which is achieved by recycling all materials back into nature or the marketplace in a manner that protects the environment and the pristine ecosystems surrounding the property.

- The hosts provide bulk organic and biodegradable soap and amenities instead of individual packages to reduce waste.

- The hosts use renewable energy sources like solar & passive solar.

- All the fans at the property are energy-efficient (no air-conditioning) and there is energy-efficient lighting.

- The cuisine includes organic, home-grown, and local food with wild seasonal treats. There are organic gardens to offer healthy home cooked meals for guests. The organic orchard offers peaches, apricots, pomegranate, and apples.

- All food scraps are composted.

- The hosts reduce, reuse, and recycle all glass, plastic, carton, aluminum, and paper. They only use non-disposable dishes and glasses instead of wasteful paper products.
