This historic property is located in Cuchillo, New Mexico, an area established by Mexican ranchers and farmers in the early 1800's. Cuchillo is only one of many ghost towns spread throughout Sierra County, New Mexico, and holds many stories of New Mexico’s Wild West history. Guests can enjoy ghost tours near the property or can explore the local properties, including a historic saloon, a general store, a post office, and more. Elephant Butte is just a 20-minute drive east of the property and is an excellent spot for recreational activities, while the nearby Rio Grande River and the Truth or Consequences Hot Springs are also within driving distance.

The city of Las Cruces is almost an hour and a half from the property by car and is home to dining, shopping, and popular tourist destinations.

Guests will enjoy a wide range of activities at this property, starting with exploring the superbly historic local area. The fantastic ghost town is host to ghost tours that provide a spooky backdrop for an exciting vacation. Incredible buildings like a saloon, a general store, and a post office are all over a century old and still in good condition, allowing for guests to tour them and take some excellent photos.

Just a short drive away is Elephant Butte, where guests can cast a line for their catch of the day, take a boat out for the afternoon, or enjoy a morning of kayaking or canoeing. The Rio Grande River is excellent for swimming in during summer after enjoying a soak in the hot springs at Truth or Consequences.

For a taste of the big city, guests can take a day trip to Las Cruces and visit one of the many museums or art galleries. There's also plenty of restaurants, cafes, and bars to enjoy, as well as plenty of shopping.
