This vacation cottage boasts an excellent location near Abiquiu Lake in New Mexico and provides the perfect base for glampers to explore some of New Mexico’s important natural landmarks and wilderness areas. Intrepid glampers will be in their element as they explore the network of trails that stretch along riverbeds, carve through canyons, and snake along rugged cliffs. Cerro Pedernal lies in the heart of the Jemez Mountains and offers an eight-mile hike during which glampers can spot wildlife. Furthermore, horseback riding is a popular activity at Ghost Ranch and is a fantastic way to admire the dramatic landscape.

Closer to home, glampers can enjoy exploring Abiquiu Lake and everything that it has to offer. Here, glampers can kayak, canoe, or simply relax on the shores of the lake while others cast a line in the waters. The Chama River is wild and scenic and a mecca for avid anglers. Trout fishing and fly fishing are popular on the river, as well as canoeing, kayaking, and rafting down the Chama River Valley. For a break from the outdoors, glampers can visit the Echo Amphitheater, Plaza Blanca, and the famous Monastery of Christ in the Desert.

Additionally, a getaway to this part of New Mexico isn’t complete without a visit to Georgia O’Keeffe’s studio and home in Abiquiu Village. The world-famous painter’s home can be found in the downtown square and provides an interesting look into her life and what inspired her. Furthermore, the village is home to old adobe ruins and lovely pizza restaurant.
