While staying in this area, guests should be sure to enjoy the nearby Whiteface Mountain, known for its wonderful skiing and other winter sports. There is also the High Falls Gorge near Wilmington, where a picturesque waterfall sits, and Esther Mountain, a popular destination for hiking. In winter, children will love visiting Santa's Workshop as well. In Lake Placid, there is the Lake Placid Olympic Museum, which exhibits artifacts, including team uniforms and medals. There is also the Historical Society Depot Museum situated in the old train station, while the village offers incredible lakes including Lake Placid and Mirror Lake, where guests can enjoy amazing views.
The nearby city of Plattsburgh offers the amazing Lake Champlain, where guests can enjoy recreational activities such as fishing, sailing, and cycling along the edge. There is also Cumberland State Park, which offers a large beach, and a museum dedicated to the War of 1812. The famous city of Saratoga Springs is just over 100 miles south of the property and is home to the Saratoga National Historical Park, a battlefield, and a monument dedicated to the Revolutionary War. This city also boasts the Saratoga Automobile Museum and the Children's Museum of Saratoga.
