Ophir

Ophir lies in the heart of San Juan National Forest, and it is therefore a brilliant place to come if you are looking to have a camping trip filled with mountains and exploring. Not only this, but you can enjoy a range of activities from winter through to fall, thanks to the diversity of the climate as the year goes on. Head to the ski town of Telluride, which boasts a strong history of mining, but which now acts as a popular ski spot when the snow starts to fall. Lookout Peak has a glimmering blue lake, and is a great spot to sit and enjoy nature at its finest. To enjoy wildflower meadows amidst a mountain landscape, head to Dallas Peak. Here, you can go on hikes through the wilderness, where you can catch some stunning scenery.
