While visiting Katikati, glampers should be sure to spend a day hiking at the Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Park, where local wildlife can be seen as well as some historic logging and mining sites. On Friday nights, there is a Katikati Farmer's Market, where glampers can purchase fresh produce to take back to the property and prepare. The Katikati Bird Gardens are nearby and offer bird-feeding to visitors, or glampers could check out the Haiku Walkway with its largest collection of haiku stones outside of Japan. The Uretara River Bird Walk offers birds in their natural habitat, as well as a relaxing and interesting stroll. Waihi Beach is a nearby surfing spot and the Hauraki Rail Trail at Karangahake Gorge is a great spot for a cycling tour. Guests can also enjoy perfect views of the Milky Way and can count shooting stars from the peaceful orchard without the light pollution of the town.
