This premium holiday lodge is located in Kuaotunu, an old gold-mining town on New Zealand’s South Island, and can accommodate up to four guests. Near gorgeous white sandy beaches and fabulous nature reserves, this is the perfect place for a peaceful glamping getaway.

The lodge is made up of two rooms—one bedroom and an adjacent private guest lounge. The master bedroom has a plush queen-size bed and a marble-lined ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The cozy adjacent lounge has a lovely leather couch that can be converted into an additional queen-size bed to accommodate larger parties. Guests staying in the lounge will enjoy a separate bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is a small kitchenette with a fridge, which is perfect for preparing tea or coffee. There is also complimentary Wi-Fi provided throughout the property.

Outside, there is a large wooden deck, which is the ideal place to enjoy some morning or evening refreshment, and when night falls, guests are encouraged to enjoy the wonderful starry sky. Guests will have access to binoculars and solar viewing glasses to really be able to make the most of their rich surroundings.

Glampers staying at this property will be able to truly make the most of their location as they will have access to some high-tech astronomy equipment that will add a new dimension to nights spent looking up at the stars. Indeed, the property’s observatory is home to Coromandel Peninsula’s largest telescope, which curious guests will have access to.

There is a minimum required booking of two nights in the Observatory Lodge and three nights in the Miners Cottage.

The property is not suitable for children under the age of 5 due to the high decks, stream and old gold mine tunnels on property.

As we have stock on property unfortunately pets can not be accommodated.

Located in the heart of some of New Zealand’s most exquisite countryside, glampers staying at this property will have no-end of wonderful ways to fill their time. Glampers might wish to explore the area on foot on some of the nearby bush walks: Black Jack Scenic Reserve and Coromandel Forest Park are both a conveniently short distance from the property. There is also the opportunity to enjoy a spot of golf or tennis. Hot Water Beach is accessible in under an hour from the property and is well worth a visit as guests can dig into the sand on the beach to release geothermal hot springs to create a personal little mineral spa. The water provides a range of well-known health benefits so this is certainly an opportunity that is not to be missed.
