Set just a few hundred meters away from the Otago Central Rail Trail, this accommodation is located at a bed and breakfast lodge near Alexandra, South Island, and can accommodate two guests for a getaway to the peaceful countryside of the Maniototo Plain. With the Otago Central Rail Trail running right through Lauder and bike rentals and storage available right from the lodge, guests will be well-positioned and well-equipped to go hiking, biking, and horseback riding through the sweeping landscape of Central Otago. Another way to explore the latter is by four-wheel-drive vehicle, with tours available through High Country Journeys and Maniototo 4WD Safaris.
At the nearby town of Naseby, guests can try out curling at the Naseby Indoor Curling Rink, go ice skating at the next-door outdoor rink, play tennis at the town's Recreation Ground, hit the links at the Naseby Golf Course, and visit the Maniototo Early Settlers Museum, the Jubilee Museum, and the Naseby Motoring Museum. At Naseby Forest, guests can go hiking, mountain biking, fishing, swimming, and luging on a 360-meter (1,181-foot) track at up to 60 kilometers (37 miles) per hour.
