Glampers will be treated to a plethora of activities in the nearby areas, and outdoor lovers will find this to be a perfect spot to escape to. Both Nugget Point and Kaka Point are signature attractions of the Catlins on the South Island. At Nugget Point, glampers will find themselves at the end of the earth with a lighthouse set on the rocks amid crashing waves that attract thousands of visitors year-round. Kaka Point is a seaside setting where glampers will find a small beach settlement that is now a sleepy holiday home village.
Hiking fanatics will be blessed with spots like the Purakaunui Falls, McLean Falls, and Matai Falls which are three waterfalls set in the native Catlins bush and a definite must-see on the Catlins trail where guests can immerse themselves in the breathtaking natural surroundings. Additional places glampers can explore include Curio Bay and Porpoise Bay, which respectively offer the opportunity of swimming with dolphins, relaxing back with a book in hand and sunbathing on the beach, watching the penguins up close and personal, as well as meandering on through the awe-inspiring petrified forest, an ancient forest that has been frozen in time among the rock pools, which is roughly 180 million years old.
Glampers in this area will have access to a variety of hiking trails, watersports, canoeing, kayaking, as well as shopping and art gallery spots.
