Guests can explore on their own or join a guided tour to fully understand the Maori connection to the forest and beaches. There are also three fishing rivers within a few miles of the property that are stocked with trout and salmon. These rivers are only available in season from October to April. A short drive to the north is the sea side town of Hokitika, which has plenty of great shops and restaurant for the perfect flavor of local cuisine and culture.
