This suite is located in Kakapotahi, New Zealand, a rural area that has the Waitaha River running along the south side of the area. Centrally located in the South Island, Kakapotahi, the rural region spans from the mountains in the center of the island all the way to the coast which looks out onto the Tasman Sea. To the north is the town of Hokitika, a small beach town that sits on the mouth of the Hokitika River, which flows into the Tasman Sea. The city also has the closest airport, the Hokitika Airport, which is about a half hour away.

A short walk from the location is the Kakapotahi Ecological Reserve, a protected land that features what New Zealand was like before European discovery and settlement. Guests can explore on their own or join a guided tour to fully understand the Maori connection to the forest and beaches. There are also three fishing rivers within a few miles of the property that are stocked with trout and salmon. These rivers are only available in season from October to April. A short drive to the north is the sea side town of Hokitika, which has plenty of great shops and restaurant for the perfect flavor of local cuisine and culture.
