Without leaving the glamping site, guests will have plenty to do. They can explore its 1,250 acres of farmland; kick back and relax at the lodge’s guest lounge, foyer, and wraparound decks; and enjoy food and refreshments at the on-site cafe, which serves mixture of dishes based on Maori and South Westland culinary traditions, as well as an extensive selection of coffee, tea, wine, and beer that are blended, cultivated, and brewed in New Zealand. They can also go on a tour of the farm, where they can learn about its operation and meet New Zealand-pedigree cattle, Cayuga ducks, Araucana chickens, and Flemish giant rabbits, along with sheep, goats, geese, turkeys, peacocks, and quail, as well as the resident pair of Birman cats.

Venturing off-site, they can shop, dine, and drink at a variety of cafes, restaurants, bars, and stores in Franz Josef Glacier Village just five minutes away. Heading to Westland Tai Poutini National Park immediately to the north and south, they can go hiking, bird watching, mountain biking, mountain climbing, hunting, kayaking, and canoeing. Following Potters Creek or Franz Josef Highway from the site, they will find Lake Mapourika—the largest lake in the region— less than two miles to the north, where they can picnic, fish, kayak, or go on a boat cruise.

Finally, no trip to the region would be complete without seeing one of its main attractions: Franz Josef Glacier itself, just seven minutes away from the site. To experience it and the surrounding area, guests can go on a variety of guided and unguided hiking tours, ice climbing tours, and helicopter tours.
