There are multiple compost heaps scattered throughout the grounds, and guests are asked to contribute any uncooked food or peelings. Leftover cooked food, on the other hand, can be fed to the chickens. There are 25 chickens on this site and they provide fresh golden eggs to the guests. The shared toilet facilities are also composts, which is a system that uses little to no water. Non-compostable items may be recycled in labeled bins. A free box of firewood is provided to help glampers keep warm on colder nights.
