Guests visiting, no matter the time of year, have an endless amount of outdoor activities to choose from. In the summer, guests can pack a picnic and head over to Oneida Lake for a day of sailing, swimming, fishing, and fun. Should guests prefer the river, they can hop in a kayak or canoe and explore the Oneida River. Oneida County is home to countless miles of woodland trails, like the Gorge Trail, wildlife preserves, and even three state parks, including the Verona Beach State Park. The property lies near the historic Erie Canal, which guests have two ways of experiencing. They can rent a bike and cycle the Erie Canal Cycling Trail, or cruise down the Erie Canal in a boat.
Come winter, the area receives a large amount of snow, making it very popular with outdoor winter recreational enthusiasts. The Black River Environmental Improvement Association maintains trails open throughout the year. While in the summer guests can hike there, during the winter the trails are great for cross-country skiing. Guests can also ice skate on the many lakes around the area or go snowmobiling through the groomed trails from Southern Hills to the Tug Hill region. -
