An outpost of Awestruck cider, 5 mins down the road from our house. Serves hard cider, usually with a food truck out front. Outdoor seating is pet friendly.

Doog Goods: 7.6 miles
This is just an extremely cool place in Walton. Furniture store run by architects, opening a gallery next door. They also sell bread and snacks sometimes. Must visit for anyone who likes design.

Bear Spring Mountain: 9.7 miles
Large park/wildlife management area 10 mins from the house. Can swim/boat and hike.

Right around the corner from the house, where we get our eggs! Drop by the farm stand for eggs/chicken/produce, they also do tours from time to time.

Check out the website to Great Western Catskills for all the up to date info for shopping, restaurants and activities. Groceries stores, gas stations, shopping, farmers markets and more are all located with 15 to 20 minutes in Walton, Delhi, Hamden and Oneonta.

A vehicle is necessary to get around. There is no or limited Uber or transportation services in the area.

In the winter months when snow is likely (October through April) AWD or 4WD is recommended along with all weather or snow tires with good tread.

• While the home is professionally cleaned and maintained, sightings of ants, insects, or signs of wildlife may occur, especially seasonally
• Do not leave food or trash outside or unattended indoors

Winter Travel (October–April)
• Rural, mountainous roads can be unpredictable
• AWD, FWD, or 4WD recommended
• All-weather tires with good tread required
• Avoid rear-wheel drive vehicles in snow or ice
• Driveway is plowed and shoveled every 3–4 inches of snow
• Shovel provided for guest use
• Salt is not provided—guests are advised to bring some if needed
• Host and service providers cannot provide roadside assistance or tow services

• Chambers Hollow is all about unplugging. There’s no TV here, so bring your favorite book, playlist, or podcast and enjoy the slower pace of country life.

Laundry Access
• Staying a week or longer? You’ll have access to the washer and dryer in the basement. For shorter stays, we recommend packing accordingly.
