Charming Vacation Cottage with Breathtaking Lake Views near Ithaca, New York
This charming vacation cottage is located in Watkins Glen, New York, about half an hour away from Ithaca. It can accommodate up to six guests.
There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed and the second bedroom has two double beds. There is a queen-size sofa bed in the living room to sleep any additional guests. The bathroom comes with a sink, a toilet, and a shower. Linens and towels are provided.
The living room contains two sofas and a flat-screen TV with a DVD player. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with a fridge, a stove and oven, a microwave, a coffeemaker, and cooking utensils. There is a furnished sunroom with glass walls offering breathtaking views of Seneca Lake and the surrounding valleys and mountains. The cottage is a few minutes away from Watkins Glen State Park. They can hike and ride bikes around gorges, cliffs, and waterfalls. The park has an Olympic-sized pool, picnic areas, and trails for cross-country skiing in the winter. Guests can fish for rainbow trout on Seneca Lake or Catherine Creek. Those with valid state licenses are allowed to hunt in the park.
Guests can spend the day at Taughannock Falls State Park, where they can hike around more gorges and waterfalls. The park has a beach on Cayuga Lake where guests can swim, launch boats, and ride paddleboards in the summer. The park hosts live concerts on the beach during the summer. In the winter, guests can ski and snowshoe along the hiking trails, sled down slopes, or go ice skating on the naturally frozen ponds within the park. Guests with valid state licenses are allowed to hunt and fish inside the park.
In addition, guests can head into the town of Ithaca, only half an hour away from the cottage. Ithaca has plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as golf courses, movie theaters, bars, and nightclubs. Couples can tour vineyards, cider mills, and art galleries.
