For a weekend getaway outside of the city, this countryside tiny house rental near Springfield, Illinois, is a perfect haven for those seeking peace and tranquility. The 570-square-foot, two-story tiny house rests on a 24-acre prairie restoration property, with woodlands on two sides and agricultural fields on the other two.

The tiny house can accommodate up to six guests, with one bedroom on the second floor, which has a queen-size bed and a sofa bed, in addition to another sofa bed in the downstairs living room. Linens, towels, shampoo, and a hairdryer are all kindly provided by the host. Extra pillows and blankets are available, too.

Next to the living room, guests will find a dining area, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a full bathroom with a shower and a washer and dryer. In the aforementioned kitchen, there are an oven, a stove, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a dishwasher, all necessary cookware and tableware, and some cooking basics, such as salt, pepper, and oil.

Upstairs, in addition to the bedroom, there is an eclectic reading library; a working table for a laptop or tablet; and access to the covered deck, which overlooks the surrounding native prairie, woodlands, and two ponds. Other amenities of the tiny house include heating, air conditioning, an iron, a television, Wi-Fi, and hangers. For those traveling with children, the accommodation has a number of helpful amenities, such as outlet covers, children's books and toys, children's dinnerware, and room-darkening shades.

Outside the tiny house, there is a barbecue for grilling out, the aforementioned upper, covered deck, and the lower front porch, which is also covered. Guests will have a private patio area to the side of the accommodation to enjoy, too.

There are two accommodations on this property: a studio-style vacation rental and a stand-alone tiny house. The tiny house is secluded from the rest of the property and is not wheelchair-accessible, while the studio is wheelchair-accessible. The hosts live across the driveway from the studio and will greet all guests upon check-in and check-out. They are there to help when needed but preserve guests privacy.
