About five miles to the south, guests will find the Rush Creek State Natural Area, which encompasses 2,845 acres of prairies on top of the limestone bluffs that rise above the river. These prairies provide habitats for Acadian flycatchers, cerulean warblers, and red-shouldered hawks.

Other nearby natural attractions include Battle Bluff Prairie State Natural Area, Blackhawk Park, Fish Farms Mounds Wildlife Area, Lansing Wildlife Management Area, and the New Albin Big Lake Wildlife Management Area. The rental is about halfway between the cities of Prairie du Chien and La Crosse, which are both about 40 minutes away. In La Crosse, guests will find a variety of restaurants and shops, as well attractions such as the Riverside Museum, the Hixon House, Riverside Park, and the Dahl Auto Museum. In and around Prairie du Chien, guests will find attractions such as Effigy Mounds National Monument, Pikes Peak State Park, and Villa Louis.
