Romantic Botanical Bell Tent for a Fantastic Glamping Experience in Southbury, Connecticut

Description

Pets accepted conditionally upon owner approval. Not everyone is responsible with their pets and we have 3 cats so pets must be cat friendly. We also do not want people's pets using our garden beds to go to the bathroom or tearing them up. Pets must be very well train, cannot bark excessively or disturbed the neighbors. Please ask us about what we would need to allow your pet to join you. We reserve the right to charge for damages caused by guests pets.

There are new things to explore every week and we are constantly adding morel. June is Strawberries and Spring flowers such as irises and snowbells. July is wild raspberry time while the rose of sharon begins to bloom, cucumbers and nasturtium and tomatoes start up. By August there are vegetables like squash, peppers and more flowers to enjoy. By September and October, the apples and pears start to become ready to pick. The roses are all summer long.

We have put together a 20 plus page booklet of things to do in the area as well as convenience stores. Please ask us for it. But we do provide one in the tent too.

Property Organically sprayed for Tics and other bugs once a month.

Don't worry about the weather. Or guests repeatedly say is that even when it rains, it is still a great adventure as the sound of the rain on the tent is just soothing and relaxing.

Some amenities are by request such as use of the refrigerator, dryer or a few other items.
Please let us know if you need a later checkout time as checkout time can be altered to later in the day depending on new arrivals. The pool area is shared with the homeowners.

While check-in is as early as 9am, so long as there are no other guests, coming that day, you can stay until 3pm so long as there are no other guests coming that day.

Please be aware that there are no lifeguards for the pool. Guests are responsible for their own safety at the pool.

Place trash in receptacles. If you have a lot of trash, there are white plastic bags in the clear plastic container behind the chair to the right of the table in the tent. If you have recyclables, you can either return them yourselves as in CT, they are not worth .10 or you can leave them for us in one of the buckets by the dish and utensil cart in the tent.

Beautiful, peaceful, and unique stay! Want to come back in warm months to use the beautiful pool, but the autumn foliage was breath taking. The yurt was cozy and spacious and the love and labor put into the property is magical. makes this a great retreat — yummy basil and apples!! Wish I could have stayed longer to appreciate

Joan was such hospitable host and her property is truly spectacular. We were greeted on arrival with food and desert. Joan gave us a guided tour of the garden with more times of flowers / plant life that you can imagine. Will definitely be back again!

This is a home away from home, and I felt a sense of peace that I can not put into words. The whole experience was absolutely beautiful and tranquil. I can not express the gratitude we have for our hosts, Joan & Chris. What amazing humans! We thank you for providing such hospitality & offering a special dining experience. We are still in the clouds and wish we could have stayed longer. Oh the garden is absolutely gorgeous!! We strolled around the day and in the evening when the solar lights came on. Oh my word!! Thanks Again!

This was the perfect getaway. Checkin was very easy and flexible. The tent is spacious, private and warm. The bed is a very comfortable foam mattress and then tent has great amenities. The restroom is clean and roomy. We enjoyed swimming in the inground pool and lounging while listening to our music on their Bluetooth speakers. The evening was filled with a nice campfire outside our tent. The whole experience was safe, quiet and clean. The host is so friendly and it is a true “glamping” experience with everything you need. The hosts were on property but they provide you with privacy and you would never know they were at the house. We would stay again.

Me and my boyfriend stayed one night, and it was beautiful! The romantic dinner was beautiful, and absolutely delicious and worth the money. The smoked cheddar was divine!! The salmon and steak were unbelievably tasty. Keep in mind that it’s an air mattress in the tent, which got slightly uncomfortable but regardless the tent was gorgeous. We’re looking forward to going back someday. Also the animals were so adorable and friendly.

Totally unique environment, extremely refreshing pool and super nice, casual connection to the hosts (while also having plenty of privacy). My husband and I really enjoyed our stay and it’s the perfect halfway point between Boston and the poconos, or Boston and nyc. We’ll be back!

we needed to get away for just a night. Joan was a wonderful host. she explained everything to us and getting to know her was that much more special. the fire pit was so nice and I can't get over the access to the wonderful pool! She has everything available in case you forgot and if you don't want to go in the water she has a nice garden you can explore!!

We had such a wonderful stay!
Joan uses her extraordinary energy to make sure you have everything you need. You don't need to bring anything, everything is onsite.
The dinner they offer is worth it, we got smoked cheese and smoked pork, it was awesome. We took it near the pool, super chill. Then we ended up chilling by the fire. Perfect day.
A lot of things to do around (vineyards, lakes, hikes etc...).
We'll probably be back one day!

We loved staying here and will definitely be visiting again! Joan provided absolutely everything you will need while staying. It was clean and comfortable and the firepit was a wonderful touch. Our favorite part was randomly seeing her adorable pets (Lucy her cat was the star of the show.)

Joan was such a wonderful host! She was incredibly responsive, welcoming, and friendly!! She even gave us a tour around the beautiful property and the smoked meal we added on was delicious! The pool is incredible and perfect to dip in after spending the day hiking on the many trails in the area. We made a fire and cooked over it and enjoyed spending time with their sweet dog. I highly recommend this Airbnb experience and Joan is the best!! She is so helpful and really invested in her guests having a spectacular time (which we did!).
