This stunning property is situated on Kealakekua Bay near the town of Captain Cook on the Big Island, Hawaii. It is on the west side of the island in the Kona District and is bordered to the north by Kakekua and to the south by Honaunau-Napoopoo. The town was named after the British Explorer, Captain James Cook, a naval captain and navigator who explored the seaways in the 1700's. The Captain Cook Monument was made to honor his life and, ultimately his death, in Kealakekua Bay itself. Kona is most widely known for its award-winning, gourmet coffee bean production and is recognized at the Kona Coffee Living History Farm. St. Benedicts Painted Church is a famous Roman Catholic Church located in South Kona. Keauhou Bay and Honaunau Bay are popular snorkeling sites that are home to manta rays and green sea turtles respectively.
