The Cottage is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, minutes from the town of Dahlonega and a variety of North Georgia attractions. It is ideal for those who appreciate a unique and thoughtfully cared-for home base as they venture out to explore the rich history, natural wonders, and local activities in the surrounding area. The owner, Callie, is also the caretaker and the person you will be communicating with as you plan and prepare for your stay. This is Callie's only vacation rental property, and your experience is truly cared about and matters to her.
The master bedroom (part of the original schoolhouse) has a queen bed, a bath with a shower, and a private screened-in porch accessible through a door that was once the entrance to the original school building. The second bedroom has a full-size bed with a full-size bath with tub/shower. The living room is also part of the original schoolhouse and has a big, cozy couch that can comfortably sleep one person.
Finally, please read the full description of the cottage, the amenities, and the house rules prior to booking. And if you plan to bring your pup along for your stay, you must register him/her as part of your booking party and follow the pet policy in order to be refunded your pet deposit.

Guests traveling with their canine family members should agree to abide by the Schoolhouse Dog Policy.
Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property, including outside.
Only toilet paper in the toilets.
The propane tank that fuels the fire bowl in the backyard MUST be turned off when not in use.
Hunting, fireworks, sound amplifiers, and parties of any kind are not allowed.
ONLY place 13 gallon (or larger) trash bags in the outside bin. NO loose items or small bags. Our garbage man retrieves the bags by hand and will only take full-size trash bags.
If any damages occur or an item fails to work properly during your stay please notify Callie PRIOR to check out.
Exterior security cameras are in place for the safety of guests, the property, and as documentation that the cottage is within the county’s legal occupancy limit. Tampering with the security camera is grounds for immediate, nonrefundable termination of stay.
Please note: Failure to follow the house rules will result in a damage claim for guests who booked through Airbnb or the loss of one’s damage deposit for guests who booked through any other platform
-Dog Policy-
We love dogs at the Schoolhouse and are happy to welcome yours free of charge under the following conditions:
Canine companions must be clean and up to date on flea and tick prevention.
Remove any waste from the lawn. (Tip: toss it into the forest or even better, flush it down the toilet.)
It is STRONGLY suggested that your dog stays on a leash when outside. There is wildlife out there that could potentially harm a free roaming domesticated animal.
Cover furniture with blankets from home or the one found inside the trunk under the living room sideboard before allowing pups up.
Wipe dirty paws and wet dogs with towels found under the kitchen sink or in the laundry room cabinet. Do NOT use bathroom linens.
Run the vacuum prior to check-out. Use the corded vacuum in the guest room closet.
Please do not bring your dog if he or she is not fully house trained, has incontinence issues, or has separation anxiety and will scratch on doors, walls, etc when alone.
