There are kayaks and stand-up paddleboards available for rent if guests are keen to get out on the water, or glampers can sign up for a boat ride. There is also great fishing available just steps from the rental off of the wharf.

While on the island, guests should take a visit to the historic Mansion House which is Governor Grey’s former mansion. It is home to beautiful grounds and there are many exotic plants and trees. The hosts also recommend a visit to the Coppermine ruins, School House Bay, and Bostaquet Bay where guests will find two huge trees that formed the entrance to the banquet hall where a tribe of Maori once resided—perfect for culture and history lovers!
