This breathtaking property is situated on a private, sandy beach mid-way along the stunning coastal strip between Takaka and Collingwood. Glampers can experience the best central location in Golden Bay making it the perfect base to explore the many outstanding sites of natural beauty in the region.
This unique part of New Zealand has an abundance of golden sandy beaches, turquoise crystal clear waters, alpine meadows and snowy mountain ranges. The amazing Abel Tasman National Park is to the South, and the Kahurangi National Park is to the North, both within less than an hours drive. Other areas of interest include Pupu springs, nearby Caves, Farewell spit; which is the longest natural sandbar in the world, and Heaphy track, a four-to-six day hike that traverses a large part of Kahurangi National Park.
The property is approximately one hour and forty-five minutes from Nelson, fifteen minutes North of the town of Takaka and eight minutes from the small town of Collingwood. The property is situated in a tranquil garden, overlooking the sheltered waters of the bay, where it is safe for swimming at both low and high tide.
The nearest international airport is Wellington Airport which is just under an eight-hour drive. There are domestic flights available between Wellington and Takaka airport which is a ten-minute drive.

There are countless side roads home to potters, painters, sculptors, soap makers, silversmiths, weavers of flax, willow, and wool, as well as candle makers, rug makers, and drum makers. This vast array of talent is sure to inspire, Glampers can join the Golden Bay arts trail and visit professional studios and galleries and meet the artists themselves.
The Bay has a myriad of walks to enjoy, from the property it is possible to walk the coast along to Collingwood and Takaka, (15km), or to The Mussel Inn which is three kilometers along the beach and coastal path. There are many hiking trails in the nearby national parks of Abel Tasman, Kahurangi, and of course the longer expedition of the Heaphy track. There are safari boat trips around the Farewell Spit, a sandbar which is a renowned bird sanctuary and the largest sandbar in the world. Pupu Springs is a short walk and is a stunning freshwater fall, the largest in New Zealand. An underwater observation window offers spectacular viewing of the incredibly clear waters and brightly colored plant life.
The adventurous can enjoy horse trekking amongst dramatic scenery, kayaking, and paddleboarding within the bay and Abel Tasman National Park. There is also a scenic cruise available from Totaranui through the Abel Tasman National Park through to Kaiteriteri.
There are charter scenic flights available nearby which provide spectacular views of the bay, and also operate a service for those doing the Heaphy track.
