Austin

Austin is a small place in Colorado that is markedly different to the Texas counterpart of the same name. It is somewhere defined by a sloping, sandy mountain landscape, and lies within close reach to some of the state’s most popular national parks. Many people visit when they want to have a more unique camping trip than any before it, thanks to the diverse surrounding landscape. Head to Needle Rock, which looks as if it has appeared right out of a western movie, and where you can enjoy stunning views as you hike around the shores of its serene lake. Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area is the perfect place to come on challenging, sandy hikes, and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is one of the state’s proudest national monuments.
