The spa is truly out-of-this-world, with unique Japanese hot baths, two heated outdoor swimming pools, and an infinity-edge hot tub with incredible mountain views. Located on Highway 1 (the main route along the Big Sur) this accommodation is easily accessible; glampers are just 100 miles south of San Jose (roughly 2 hours 30 minutes by car) and 30 miles south of Carmel. Please note if you are traveling to Big Sur from the South, Highway 1 is closed after Salmon Creek and requires alternate routes to access the Big Sur area. Please allow for extra travel time and research online guides and routes for the most suitable for your travels. Highway 1 is open from the North.
On the doorstep of the resort, glampers will find the 1,000-acre Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park with its Tassajara Hot Springs, hiking trails, plenty of amenities, and not forgetting the remarkable Pacific coastline.
The nearest big city is San Jose with its famous tech hub Silicon Valley, beautiful parks, public art scene, and world-class restaurants and shops.

Some top spots can be found at the Andrew Molera State Park where guests can enjoy hiking trails, guided horseback tours, and cycle trails for all abilities. The Point Lobos State Reserve, the Garrapata State Park, the Pfeiffer Big Sur State Mark and the Andrew Molera State Park are just a few gems in the local area for glampers to explore and are perfect hiking spots, whether glampers are looking for a gentle wander or a challenging climb.
With so much incredible coastline, glampers can, of course, take to the waters with a range of kayaking, diving, surfing, windsurfing and kiteboarding spots - some of the best that California has to offer. Monterey Bay Kayaks offers tours and kayak hire around the local coves, Point Lobos State Preserve has two diving sites, and seasoned surfers can enjoy the breaks on the Monterey Peninsula.
