Fiddletown

Located in the middle of the state of California, Fiddletown got its start when a group of Missourian pioneers settled the area in 1849 and set up a trading post for several mining camps. The town received its name during one very dry summer when the miners couldn’t mine for gold in the dried up rivers so we were said to be “fiddling around.” The North Fork Dry Creek runs through the town, and numerous wineries inhabit this fertile area. Situated between Sacramento and Tahoe, there thousands of miles of trails to explore. Head to the El Dorado National Forest for hiking and mountain biking. Drive to Lake Tahoe for the day to take advantage of the beautiful blue lake in the summer time, of the numerous ski resorts in the winter time. Choose Fiddletown, California for your next glamping adventure.
