With the coast being so close, guests can head to the beach and try all kinds of watersports, including swimming, surfing, kayaking, fishing, boat tours, and so much more on top of these. There are also some wonderful trails to hike through or attempt on mountain bikes. Guests do not have to travel far before reaching Te Urewera with its stunning forests and hills. Here guests can explore numerous trails. For the more adventurous, there are the Rere Falls. Guests can head out to this unique wall with water cascading down and enjoy the adrenalin-filled experience of sliding down it. There are also lots of cultural activities for guests to enjoy. Not only are there the Tairawhiti Museum and the East Coast Museum of Technology, but there are plenty of opportunities for guests to enjoy a vineyard tour and some wine tasting as well.
