Beyond the end of the road, guests will find this property sandwiched between two beaches on the MacDonald Spit. Just a 30-minute, scenic water taxi ride from Homer, AK, MacDonald Spit is a mile long finger of ancient glacier moraine, 75 feet wide, with Kasitsna Bay and Kachemak Bay on either side. There are extreme tides which make for great clamming and tide pooling. Guests can watch the sun rise over one beach and set over the other, surrounded by spruce and alder with views of the bays, islands, and snow-capped mountains. The historic village of Seldovia is 7.5 miles down a maintained, old logging road. From Homer, guests will need to arrange for transportation by water taxi, ferry, or air.
