A think layer of sandstone overlays more erosive siltstone, shale, coal, and limestone layers, creating shelter caves, like Hosak's Cave, and small waterfalls all across the park. In the summers, there's no better way to cool off than taking a dip in the lake. Salt Fork State Park has one of the largest inland beaches in Ohio, with plenty of space for everyone to lay out and enjoy the sun. Salt Fork also has 13 hiking trails, for all ages and abilities, plus over 20 miles of trails for horseback riding as well!
