Host of the Month for November 2023 | Theresa | Colorado, USA

Glamping in Golden | Original accommodation for a perfect getaway in Colorado!

Editor’s note: Each month, we like to introduce one of our wonderful Glamping Hub hosts and ask what inspired them to create a glamping site. This month, we’re showcasing Glamping Hub’s Host of the Month for November 2023, Theresa in Golden, Colorado. Theresa describes herself as a devoted admirer of nature and a dedicated yoga practitioner. Her glamping space is a perfect fusion of her passions, set within a serene ambiance at 8,000 feet. This unique glamping site not only combines Theresa’s love for yoga and the outdoors but also presents an ideal setting for her to extend her hospitality. Amidst this picturesque backdrop, Theresa offers glampers rejuvenating Thai massages, and invigorating yoga classes, ensuring a memorable experience for all who visit.

What motivated you to create a glamping destination?

This location was once a secluded spot where couples would often retreat for privacy. Recognizing the inherent beauty of the property, I felt compelled to transform it into an extraordinary sanctuary in nature, intending it to be shared with those who appreciate the natural world.

Tell us about what makes this glamping destination special

Nestled within 4 acres of picturesque Colorado landscape, my property offers glampers an enchanting haven and the perfect setting to rest and recharge their batteries. Rich in history, this place holds intriguing tales, including whispers of two amiable spirits—a Boulder gold miner and a revered Little Raven chief—adding a touch of mystique to your stay.

Do you face any challenging situations as the host of a glamping property?

One of the more significant challenges I encounter as a glamping host is managing guests’ varied expectations. It’s not uncommon for some visitors to arrive without being fully aware of what glamping really is and their preconceived notions might clash with the reality of this experience. While it is true that glamping offers greater comfort than traditional camping, it doesn’t come close to the amenities or comfort a hotel offers. Guests accustomed to urban luxuries or those new to camping often find themselves grappling with unforeseen difficulties, which occasionally leads to disappointment.

How was your first time hosting?

When I took the plunge into hosting for the first time, it felt like stepping into the unknown – a blend of excitement and uncertainty. I wasn’t entirely sure how everything would unfold. But as luck would have it, my nerves settled when I welcomed guests who were camping enthusiasts. Their knack for making the most out of every situation turned what could have been an uncertain start into an incredible shared journey filled with laughter, discovery, and unforgettable memories.

What is the best part of running a glamping site?

I love being the host of a glamping site because it offers an incredible opportunity to connect with a diverse array of people, which I find to be the most enriching aspect of this role. It’s immensely fulfilling to share this exceptional space and witness their joy as they immerse themselves in the surroundings. The satisfaction I get from hosting guests fuels my passion for creating more inviting spaces for guests to unwind, indulge, and relish the unique charm of glamping in Colorado.

Is there anywhere you would like to go glamping?

My dream glamping stay would be to stay near hot springs. I feel that this type of environment would cater to all of my senses, offering not just relaxation but also a chance to connect with the environment.

Have you got any advice for those interested in starting up their own glamping business?

The biggest piece of advice I can offer is to pursue what ignites your passion wholeheartedly. When it comes to the world of glamping, there are no rules. Instead, hosts should focus on crafting a haven that resonates with their vision!

Remember, there’s a profound joy in the freedom to innovate and shape your glamping oasis according to your vision.

Our community of hosts means everything to us here at Glamping Hub, which is why we love to share their stories in our Host of the Month feature. If you’re looking for a Unique Wagon experience in Golden, Colorado, Book Tess’s great accommodation.
